Wow is this fun!

I feel like a whole new dimension of information and entertainment has made it to me. This is sick! I bought an iPod touch today and it has been pretty entertaining all day!! Even typing this out on this great touch screen is fantastic.

December is almost here and there's some shit goin down!

The Canadian Brass Quintet is performing on Wednesday, December 9th at the Bergen Performing Arts Center.  I only have their Christmas album, and that's all I need to hear to go see them. To hear their sound, visit their site @ http://www.canbrass.com/

So, I've decided 5 years of smoking cigarettes is enough damage for my lungs.  That and, I'd like to stop paying for cancer. And there's a million other reasons, but those are the main two that are going to make me quit.  The one thing that would have me continue is my job and the dickhead manager I have. Btw, if your site could only handle 140 visitors at a time before crashing, and you're expecting to be a big time retailer over the interwebs, it's time to learn something new. LOL

In the past week, I've played with a Salsa band, my old high school Marching band, and a Cover and called " Nonetheless ".  All fun times with different people.  The salsa band, Rumba Con Son, has a private fundraiser coming up on the 5th of December, which I'm pretty excited about. We cover a lot of old Salsa songs, as well as Cumbia, Merengue, Bachata, and one more genre I believe.  Their repertoire is impressive, I must say.

The Marching band was cool.  There were a lot people I didn't talk to, and it didn't take long before I could remember why.  There were some people younger than me, and a few others that were older than me that I spoke to. They all seemed nice, which made it a pleasant start to my Thanksgiving Day.

Nonetheless was awesome.  Played at The Rock, which used to be known as The Bar. It was tons of fun playing The Impression That I Get, Take On Me, Last Dance with Mary Jane, and a few others there.  Also, I managed to rock someone's world. :D

...So the holidays are almost here! Which means, family time... Some of the funniest shit has happened in the holidays.  I like how there's no censor on us and we just let the shit fly out of our mouths with total disregard of what others may think.  It makes for a good ol' time when you're not uptight about everything.

So the holidays are coming. and it always makes me miss companionship the most. Need to find a nice girl who isn't crazy about God, but is sane.

Sometimes, it is

I wish I could speak Swedish. And French. And Russian.

Don't you hate it when some of the smoothest tunes to hit your ears is in a language you don't understand?  Well, I mean not all the time is it a bad thing.  But sometimes, you just want to know what it is they're expressing their anguish, passion, or whatever it may be, over. Buzzed in this state of yuengling & jell-o shot, is when listening to Kultiration makes their whoas and mellow lyrics just a tad more intriguing. Reggae is what they sound like, by definiton.  It sounds more like 2nd wave ska.  Do the Swedes have a name for this genre?

I miss my friend, even though he's an immature self-loathing prick who needs to swallow his wrongful pride and grow up.  But there are still good people in my life. And have met new, exciting, witty, intelligent, funny, good people this year.  I felt like 2009 was a year that opened my eyes.  It's been too busy at times, but definitely worth cramming tons of happenings in such a small amount of time.  This weekend, I'll be attending an Anime Convention (unsure of the name) in PA with my buddy who runs CosWatch and his hetero partner in crime who also partakes in CosWatch.  Destined to be a good time, I've been highly anticipating this weekend for a couple of months now.

Time to put some new music in VaultII.  And then sleep? And then work -.- And then Practice . And then ANIME WEEKEND!

Til the next time I get to this.

Work it off

Happy October! >:]
So last week, I played Halo 3: ODST; it's entertaining & distracting, which is always good.  I've also played salsa at Syracuse University with a salsa band.   I was very late for that gig, which made the whole band late.  They looked like they wanted to separate me from my testicles... I'm glad they didn't actually go through with it.

Also, it was my roommate's 23rd birthday two days ago, unfortunately I missed it b/c of another salsa practice.  So just to help out, I play in two salsa bands: We'll call them "A" & "B".  So I was practicing with "B" a couple of days ago, which caused me to miss the birthday of my good friend.  I think I've been getting on his nerves this past week. =\

This Friday, I'll be playing an 80's themed 21st birthday party with "B" .. I may go punk for this one. And on Sunday, I'll be playing a wedding with "A"... Formal attire, unfortunately.

So Halloween is coming up and I don't know what to be yet... I would like to KGB it, but they would have no idea. Have you an idea?

Relocating

Starcraft II
When's it coming already?! I can't keep playing the grossly outdated original game forever.
-----------------------------
Well, I saw Mayweather have some fun with Marquez last night. It was a good fight, if you enjoy the occasional taunt against a dumb ass boxer. I mean when Marquez went in swinging, it was fine for the 2 seconds that he did show some effort. After that, his attempt at covering himself wasn't that great. I've never seen a man take that many shots to the face. :sex joke here:

And I did get to see some of the Giants game today. Hahaha, it was opening night for the Cowboys at their brand new stadium in Arlington, and they lost to a bunch of yankees (not the team, obviously). That's a great way to break in the new stadium :D .. By the way that place was redonkulous: a 7 STORY tall scoreboard, and two huge "windows" (one on each end zone) and a closing/opening roof.

Cut Copy was downloaded today via eMusic. eMusic.com really has a great collection of tunes that iTunes doesn't carry, you really should give them a try.  One thing that reeled me in to them was their promo at the time: 75 songs for $12 just for the first month. I believe it was 25 songs + 50 free songs just for signing up with them. Anyway, In Ghost Colours is the name of the album and so far, I'm enjoying it! One of my favorites on this album is "Hearts On Fire"; it has kind of an Electro rhythm to it, while maintaining that good rock sound. If you can, listen to the Build Remix of that song.

They have another album that really grew on me and is now taking over a friends life: Bright Like Neon Love.
Cut Copy is your run-of-the-mill rock band with a 21st century feel. Not limiting themselves to the drum kit, guitars and basses; their different sounds, synthesizers, pedals and effects make for a great listening or driving experience/dance party. If you're looking for something new, fun and a little weird, give them a listen.

Finally, I hope we're done with Kanye's jackassism now. If you've yet to get your fill, go to http://www.imaletyoufinish.com/ and get that shit over with.

LOL

This is probably the best Kanye meme of all time. Very briefly, I was watching Lewis Black last night and he was talking about Obama calling Kanye a jackass. And then he acted out the scenario:
"Oh, the President mentioned me? What did he say?"

That Kanye West is a son of a gun.

What a gay fish that Kanye is...

How do you start a good blog? Probably by avoiding that question. I carry the title "Blogger" but what I do isn't exactly that. More like "Self-promoter as a third party" for a company you could care less about. Sales kill the soul. I was taught not to be greedy, and so that's how I attempt to live. The only way I live is to do so vicariously through my instrument.

I give it life and when the timing is right, the melodies soar passed the imagination; the stream of pitches come out before I have time to think of what I'm doing. It's not what some are used to listening to.

I'm now listening to "Song 2". What a great song by a group of individuals. The guitars, violin, drums, bass and trombone give it a certain characteristic that exposes the souls of those who composed it.

The plane where tones become words and phrases become sentences is where we'll be able to communicate best. The mumbling becomes crystal clear and the tone is as warm as the feeling we all crave at one point or another. Sometimes I wish I could express myself through my speech as well as I can through my trombone. Bold and sometimes brash are the expressions I can never seem to express, until it is too late. On my wind instrument though, I can't avoid speaking a universal language. Music is my escape and, unfortunately, is never a long enough getaway.
